The Right Time Is Always NOW!
I”m sure that everyone has heard the saying “Timing is everything”. Sometimes, that’s very true. There are many times when we stumble upon great things, opportunities, and even people that we weren’t expecting, just by happenstance. As I’ve said in the past, like attracts like. So, if you’re giving good vibes, you’ll get good vibes in return most of the time. If your vibrational immune system is strong, you’ll know how to deal with bad vibes, should you chance upon them (either get away from the source of negativity, or work harder to maintain your frequency, and avoid mirroring the bad vibe).
Still everything is about timing. Had you left for work on time, you might have been in the car accident a few miles ahead of you. Had you decided to sleep in that morning, you would have missed the call that offered you an interview for your dream job. If you had decided to drive around until the song on the car stereo ended, you might have missed the last opportunity to see someone that you might never see again. These are just a few examples of timing being everything. There is definitely truth to that cliche.
Don’t Wait For The Perfect Time
On the other hand, while timing can work in your favor, there are plenty of instances where the perfect timing never presents itself. And, because of that, many of us humans never accomplish even a sixteenth of our dreams, goals, or even bucket list activities. Usually, too much emphasis is placed on being prepared. Of course, having a plan, and perhaps a back-up plan will provide you with a sense of safety and confidence. However, the chips don’t alway fall in your favor. So, while you’re waiting on the right time to make your move, time is ticking away, and you miss opportunity after opportunity.
The Safety Zone
Some people will never do anything without a plan. And, usually, those people are quite content in their safe and uneventful, little worlds. I often wonder if they are really happy, or if they’ve trained themselves to settle. Whatever the case is, it would bore me to tears (and it did, when I felt that way.) Adding a bit of spontaneity, or even a bit of mild danger to life makes it more lively. Life is short and you only get one per lifetime. (You don’t know what you’re going to come back as. What if you come back as lint? Can’t have much fun as lint…). You’re certainly not going to get any younger. I’m sure that you wouldn’t want to live a life, that is so carefully planned, that you never have the fun, that you’ve always fantasized about before its time to plan your funeral.
Whatcha Wanna Do?
Grab a pen and paper, and write down the things that you’ve alway wanted to do, but didn’t, because the time wasn’t right, or perhaps you were afraid. Don’t be scared, and don’t be conservative. Be honest — no one is going to see this list besides you. So, if you’ve always wanted to be stripper, write it down. If you’ve wanted to visit a nudist beach, skydive, bungee jump, follow a concert tour, write a book or screenplay, record an album. Hell, if you’ve always wanted to be a part of a threesome, or visit a swingers club — WRITE IT DOWN! And then, DO IT! Don’t plan it out, because in doing that, you are giving yourself time to talk yourself out of it. Throw caution to the wind and do what you want to do. It could open parts of you that are open to making life more interesting.
The Honest Truth
When it comes to the things that you want to do, likely, the perfect time will never come. Life is always there, and life is insistent — it almost always gets in the way. You work hard, and you’re a good person, you deserve to do something selfish now and then. Do more than buy a new than buy a new outfit. Do something that will give you a rush, and great memories and stories to tell. Don’t worry about the repercussions (unless you plan to do something illegal. You don’t want those repercussions.) (Editor note: Rebellion is the Seed of the Tree of Progress. Sometimes illegal is called for. #PersonalThoughts #NotThe StanceOfAfrologik). (Afrologik does not disagree. I just don’t want to see anyone in jail). Nothing is permanent except for death — a fate that we will all eventually meet. You might as well enjoy yourself and have awesome experiences while you’re on this journey.
One of my favorite people is Billie Holiday. I hate that whenever her story is told, it’s told from the perspective that she lived a tragic life. It’s true that she was involved in some sordid behavior (based on the norm), and she spent time with some seedy characters, but she lived her life the way she wanted to. And, contrary to popular beliefs and stories, but based on those who were closest to her, she loved her life. That’s what counts. You have to be happy, and live the life that YOU choose for yourself.
“They” Will Think You’re Crazy
Most likely, yeah… “they’ll” think you’re crazy. To be honest, you are a little crazy. You’d have to be crazy to take a giant, uninformed leap. A little craziness is necessary to shake things up, so don’t worry about what “they” say. In most cases, “they” are envious of your spirit. Be daring. Be free. Be advantageous. Be like Stella — get your groove back!
When something constantly eats at you, it’s possible that the Universe is trying to tell you that the time is now. We all have a cosmic design, and that design does not always lead us to our safety zones. In fact, many times, it leads us outside of our safety zones, so we can evolve. You can’t evolve if you’re standing still. Follow your mind and soul, as they are your connection to the Source — and the Source knows what it’s doing. The Universe has our backs, so there is no reason for us to not take chances and risks. You’re going to be okay. If it doesn’t work out the way you envisioned it, you tried, and you can try something else.
Money Ain’t A Thang
Jay-Z and Jermaine Dupri said it back in 1998, and they were right (well, the title is…). Money will always be around. It’ll never go out of style or become obsolete. The same is true of ways to make money. Don’t let finances stop you from living your life to the fullest. Chances are, the things that you want to do, are not as expensive as you imagine them to be. If they are, there is always more than one way to skin a cat. Research and find other ways to make it happen. Of course, I am not suggesting that you neglect important responsibilities. Still, don’t deny yourself of experiences. The adrenaline rush that comes from taking a walk on the wild side, is certainly worth a little bit of struggle.
GO FOR IT!
Sink or swim, you’ll be happy that you took a chance and experienced life outside of your comfort zone. Don’t wait for the right time — the right time is always right now. Be like Nike: Just Do It!
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore—
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over—
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
